Araneus marmoreus
The marbled orb weaver is one of the more colorful Araneus species. This one was found in a light wooded area off the shore of Ford Lake in Ypsilanti, MI. Her web was easily a couple feet in diameter.

What a beauty!
It is difficult to decide what my favorite spider is, but I found so many of these last summer and fall, I guess I like these the best. I might change my mind.
This was certainly a stunning spider. I'm hoping to find some of her descendants this summer. :)
I like the color combo of red and yellow.
Nice pattern!
