small, about 2" tall and 2" across cap - reminds me of a lightly toasted marshmallow
growing in the clubmoss under a sparse section of beech, oak, pine, maple, and birch forest. Dappled sunlight in the area.

Under shots would help heaps. A little mirror is often useful.
Could also possibly be Agaricus sp. Did you see what color the gills are?
Maybe Chlorophyllum sp.?
