drP, though they look similar, I believe this beetle is actually a Narrow Searcher (a type of Caterpillar Hunter). If you look at the punctured grooves on the elytra (the hard shell on the back that covers the wings) you can see the differences between this species and the Woodland Ground Beetle.

Thank you DrP, I do have some concerns though, the striations in the elytra and indentations on pronotum seem much more pronounced than your suggestion. Is this just variation in the species, or could it be a related species?
