About 2 1/2-3' , round pupil eleminates pit viper...my guess is Banded Water Snake.

Habitat:

Weedy area with ditches & retention pond near Siesta Public Beach, Siesta Key, FL

Im thinking more on the intergrade side Mangrove/Florida Banded Water Snake Hybrid the species cross each others paths more often when freshwater like in retention ponds are present near salty/brackish water.But both species vary so much(color/pattern) its difficult to tell.
