A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Megapodius reinwardt
Known locally as "Scrub Chooks" they are very common in Monsoon rainforest scratching around the leaf litter. Like other related species they build large mounds of leaf litter and soil to incubate their eggs. Mounds may reach several meters in height and are impressive structures for such a sized bird.
