Peregrine Falcon

Falco peregrinus anatum

Habitat:

Power line near flooded park

Notes:

This was a long-wanted life bird for me! I was thrilled to see it at my favorite patch too. This large falcon was watching a few Mallards swimming in our flooded park. Peregrines aren't called Duck Hawks for nothing. However, all of the Mallards did survive the day. Lucky ducks!

Thanks to both of you! I crack up thinking that it was a lifer considering how common they are where I live. I guess I just don't bird the right areas often enough.
