Description:

This "mangrove" was growing at the edge of a canal that was lined mostly by red mangroves. Behind this tree was a palm savanna. This tree was right in the middle of Utila Island.

Habitat:

Edge of palm savanna, along a salt water canal.

Notes:

Some locals referred to this as "mangle blanco".
