Common Yellowthroat (female)

Geothlypis trichas

Description:

About the size of a sparrow, this bird is light olive brown on head, back and tail. Under parts was a pale yellow, lighter in the throat. Dark eyes and brown small bill.

Habitat:

Usually near water can be found in bushes and shrubs nearby

Notes:

Behavior when I saw this was not usually normal for a Common Yellowthroat. Normally hyper and shy, this bird was calm and was visible as I observed her.

I was thinking that she looks so fat she might be with eggs

No wren looks like this. They are mostly brown and some with patterns or eyebrows. This when I first spotted at a distance was pale yellow.

The problem with it being a Mountain Wren is those are in South America, and this is along the coast in North America.
I agree with Liam in it being a Common Yellowthroat. I just don't understand why she was being so calm, when usually they are hyper and hide in the bushes. This one calmly sat on the top of the bushes while I took the pictures. You can even see in the photos how calm she is. If she was nervous she wouldn't be so fluffed up.

Maybe Mountain wren, Troglodytes solstitialis.

Thank you, usually see the males and they are all shy and make a lot of noise. This one was not shy, made no sound and didn't see any males. First time in this area so I wasn't sure what it was.
