body size less than 10 mm. Feeding on a Brown veined-white butterfly (Belenois aurota)
Next to a river, Lubombo area
This year, in Swaziland, the brown-veined white migration was a lot less than in past years, with most of it only lasting about two days in mid January.
Fanie! That is excellent information! I wish I could have seen the migration. Thank you for the ID on the butterfly as well, I will add in in the text of the spotting!
Have a great day!
Tina
Nice predation spotting. The butterfly is a brown veined-white (Belenois aurota). Its a migratory butterfly and a few weeks ago thousands were seen flying from central South Africa in a north easterly direction towards Mozambique.
