unidentified

Description:

Non-descript white fungus on gravel, in appearance similar to efflorescence on concrete.

Habitat:

Suburban area on tropical upland plateau.

Notes:

Spotted on ground cover in back yard. This spotting may indeed not be a biological one, but rather crystals formed by efflorescence The thing that suggests to me that this is fungus is that efflorescence is normally associated with concrete and would, I believe, be unlikely to form as an isolated "clump" on granite gravel.
