Paradoxurus hermaphroditus
Small furry mammal. Love the big Gollum-like eyes.
My neighbours roof has this triangular hollow that animals love. It used to be a Barn owl's home. Currently it is empty. As I was stepping out for my walk this morning I heard the cawing of tens of crows...their alarm call. I looked up, ran indoors and grabbed the camera ...got only a few shots as I had to be careful not to alert passers by...not all are animal lovers. I know these animals are just about managing to hold on...saw a baby civet in my garden a few weeks back...
These animals eat fruits and also flesh (small birds). They leave their droppings EVERYWHERE...even my window sill at office. Wikipedia: In Bengal there is a variety of fragrant rice known as Govindabhog rice (the rice which is offered to Lord Govinda/Krishna). The civet cat smells like that Gobindobhog (and tiger urine smells like Basmati rice!) rice, so it is often called as "Gandho (smell/fragrance) Gokul (Lord Krishna's village). http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/170...

Nice find. Hope the numbers are holding up.
Cool sighting and I enjoyed your description and notes very much!
Thank you, Neil.
Oh my! What a lovely surprise. Thank you, Ashley T.
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
Excellent spotting and notes, Sukanya. Gollum-like eyes, most certainly.
