Oyster Mushroom

Pleurotus sp.

Description:

Individual mushrooms about 4 inches across. These occur only in fall.

Habitat:

Wooded area near small, intermittent creek.

Notes:

From Oyster Mushrooms Identification Guide - HuntingMorels.com. Under the Pleurotus osteatus it states that P Populinus and P Pulmonarius are often called Pleurotus ostreatus. Pleurotus Ostreatus is classified as "The Oyster''. I tend to favor the ostreatus but when I viewed the initial cap they were not enrolled - as specified. In short I cannot comfortably classify at this time.
