Green Shield Bug

Palomena prasina

Description:

We discovered this bug under a leaf, cleverly camouflaged, upon our entrance. The shield bug was shaped like an oval, had six legs, and was entirely green except for the light brown tips of its legs. It was approximately 3 centimeters long, and 1.25 centimeters wide.

Habitat:

This bug was nicely shaded under a humongous plant leaf, even though some sun rays pored through it. We found it in a secondary rainforest.
