Orchidaceae
I found this dark pink orchid in the Botanical Gardens' orchid greenhouse. These orchids can grow up to 74 centimeters (about 2.4 feet) in height. They become a dark shade of pink when healthy, and turn slightly peach when not growing well enough. Pink orchids have lime or pale green leaves, which are simple with parallel veins. The leaves can be ovate, lanceolate, or orbiculate, and vary in their size. This specific species of orchids only require half-sun exposure, and are therefore considered a shade species, which only have long, thin leaves. These orchids haven't grown their fruit, as they have not dispersed their seeds by wind yet.
I found these orchids at the Botanical Gardens in a shadowed corner of the greenhouse, due to the reasons of too much sunlight affecting the plant growth. The orchids were in the shade and did not receive that much sunlight, but were nourishing in its rich, dark soil.
