Praying Mantis

Description:

This mantis had very little movement. Me and my partner observed that it only twitches the lower half of its body. The dark green color of the mantis camouflaged well on the plant it was clinging on to. It took us quite a while before we found it. It was about the size of my hand. It was hard to make observations because of its camouflage and no movement. From what I know, the mantis has a wing on the left side and a wing at its bottom. It has six legs. It is wide compared to other mantises.

Habitat:

Found in a secondary rainforest located in Singapore American School. Most of it is sunny, but some places are shady. This mantis was found at a shady area off the trail.

Notes:

There are many different types of mantis, so I am trying to figure out which one it is.
