Coconut Stick Insect, Phasmid

Graeffea crouani

Description:

Male Phasmid of the species, Graeffea crouani, also called Coconut Stick by the locals. Here, he is seen flashing his small red/pink wings in threat-display.

Habitat:

Found mainly on Cocounut Trees and also other palms and pandanus near to human habitat. This one was found in the parking lot of the Resort I was staying at inside Colo-i-Suva Forest Park.
