Description:

This enormous Pierid was in the garden last night. It is definently yellow on the upper surface (didn't stay long and didn't open it's wings). The undersurface is green. It looks as though it has been bitten on the back wings by a bird. The body is white on the sides and underside. The wing measured about 9 cm from top to bottom.

Habitat:

Semi-urban area on the outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
