Northern crested newt

Triturus cristatus

Description:

It was hard to spot due to its soil-color, but it has a magnificent orange pattern on the belly and over, along under side of the tail.

Habitat:

I have spotted it on a potato field whilst harvest.

Notes:

Must be that newt (terrestrial form), but I would need help for ID gender.

Protected species in Hungary.
