I was very pleased to spot one in Scotland, years later, just a few feet away (so I was able to identify it)
Welcome TL! Sadly numbers are decreasing rapidly in UK due to changes in farming practices .......... chemical pesticides etc. Could always tell if there were thrushes around as the snail shells would be along the footpaths
