Ground Spider (Gnaposidae)

Urozelotes rusticus

Description:

This is a Ground Spider. I found it on the underside of a shelf in my garage. It's really gross. They are everywhere in Utah in the summer. They are small and black. This one was especially small (and cold). Ground spiders are obviously ground dwelling spiders. They are also nocturnal.

Habitat:

They live in North America and can be found under rocks (and shelfs), and decaying wood. They are all over the place during the summer and are common household spiders.
