Two ancient oak trees
Spotted on a walk out from Week St Mary, Cornwall. They were being measured by two researchers documenting trees over 150 years old, while we were there. I've edited to add a link to the Woodland Trusts tree record for this location.

Ok, anyway still don't get it why anybody would take a leaf. I think is probably cultural..... I don't know anybody that would take a leaf unless it wasn't from buddha tree or for a sort of religious reasons..... I can totally understand why anybody would take a flower, I mean is a decoration, but a leaf...coz it's what? old? well is not...coz is a leaf....
In the notes the spotter explains that the researchers were looking for all those trees that were "over 150 years old". The spotter describes them as "ancient". I don't think it has been said that they were only 150 years old but that they fell within the threshold of the research. :-)
why would anybody want a leaf? that for ex. would never ever cross my mind...and btw 150 years ins't impressive at all...I mean just in my garden trees have over 50 years and around my city probably every evergreen tree is about 100 years and not to mention that olives are all around 1 000!
Mmmm.not a good thing to publisize such things.Especially in Britain where the wildlife is diminishing daily.Now every Tom Dick and Ali will want a leaf or an acorn
