African Monarch

Danaus chrysippus

Description:

Large golden orange butterfly, wings 8-10cm at longest, Black and white speckled body and long black antennae with little nodes on the end. Wings lovely contrast of golden orange with black and white patches and a black and white drape design along the border. I did not see the wings when open as he was under a ledge sheltering from the rain and I didn't want to send him out in it.

Habitat:

Seen in an urban hotel garden.
