Crowned Treefrog

Triprion spinosus

Description:

Large treefrog, chocolate colored, with pointed projections on the top of its head

Habitat:

tropical rainforest, 400m

Notes:

I spotted this spectacular species at night at Yatama Reserve. They can be very difficult to see, as they can spend their entire life cycle in the canopy but thankfully at Yatama, they descend to near ground level.
