Description:

Grey Palm Weevil with black spots. The distal half of the proboscis is black, about 1.5 cm long. Family Curculionidae, Subfamily Dryophthorinae.

Habitat:

Huasteca Forest, Edward James Surrealism Park, Xilitla, San Luis Potosí.

Now, with more experience on them, and relevant papers in my possession, I can do it!

= Rhodobaenus stigmaticus (Fahraeus, 1845)
(ID beyond doubt; no look-alike occurs in Mexico, and the small spot on sides is wanting in all of them)
