Dardanus pedunculatus
Saw this Anemone Hermit Crab during a night dive in the shallow waters of just 1 meter depth. Usually see them during late afternoon or night dive. They collects sea anemones to place on its shell for defence, usually its 2 or 3 anemone; one on top (in the middle) and one on each side. Dardanus pedunculatus, the anemone hermit crab, is a species of hermit crab from the Indo-Pacific region. I
It lives at depths of up to 27 m, usually among sandy and rubble bottoms.
