Hanging Caterpillar

Description:

This little larva was hanging by a silk thread (from the mouth), spinning and twisting in the breeze. In the last picture, you can see an ant in the background, hoping it will swing into reach.

Habitat:

Hanging from a tree in heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
