Crotalaria pallida
These plants can be low growing or high stalked. They develop green pea-like pods that dry out and the contents become loose and rattle - hence their name. Their flowers are yellow. They are generally considered invasive if not used for ornamental gardening.
Can be pinelands with sandy soil, coastal plains, or disturbed sites. This specimen was spotted in County nature Preserve in pine woods upland in sandy soil.
