Mexican Tree Frog

Smilisca baudinii

Description:

A large, robust nocturnal tree frog

Habitat:

forested areas, near water

Notes:

I found this at night at La Selva Biological Station. It was in a very unlikely place, tucked in tight on top of a door to a lab, beside the opening mechanism. I was certainly not expecting to see a frog there as I looked around the buildings at night.
