Eastern Bearded Dragon

Pogona barbata

Description:

The Eastern Bearded Dragon is one of the larger agamid lizards. Grey to brown in color. Pale underneath. Broad, triangular head. Stout body. Row of spines along edge of body and under throat. When threatened puffs up, raises its frill or "beard" and opens mouth showing yellow mouth lining.

Habitat:

Parkland

Notes:

Food: It eats leaves, fruits, berries, flowers, insects, small lizards and snakes. Breeding: lays about 20 eggs in hole in soft soil, litter
