Unknown Cactus

Description:

Looked like a paddle cactus, but it was covered in long, toothpick-like, white spikes. Red things on top looked like new paddles were growing or maybe flowers.

Habitat:

Desert, I found it in Warner Valley.

Thanks, Grace M., but I've looked at some pictures and none of them look like this. I appreciate it, though!

Well, it could be, like you said, a paddle cactus. Maybe it's overgrown.

Definitely some type of cactus... I'm not sure what kind.

I would appreciate any help on finding out what this is. It could even be just a guess...
