"Yes, it's edible! This King Stropharia (Stropharia rugosoannulata) is our Spotting of the Day. Stropharia rugosoannulata belongs to the family Strophariaceae, and is found in Europe and North America. It is introduced to Australia and New Zealand. It is often found growing on wood chips, and can be cultivated for food. Stropharia rugosoannulata is one of the the so-called nematophagous fungi, a group of carnivorous fungi specialized in trapping and digesting nematodes".

Awesome flowntheloop :)
@Christine Yes, they can grow gigantic! My hubby and I plan on cultivating these on our land once we get fully moved out there! They are one of the easiest to grow from what I hear!
Thanks! They are, and apparently they can get huge - up to 20cm tall. I would LOVE to find one that big!
Beautiful (and yummy)!!
