Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes

Crotalus atrox

Description:

They are brown with diamonds outlined in white running down the length of the body. There are black and white bands on the tail just before the rattle. The video shows our little trick of how we get the snakes to coil up for pictures, they feel safe inside the hat and get all comfortable, then we lift it up and take their picture while they are posing :)

Habitat:

Found in the southern US and northern Mexico in arid, rocky regions.
