Santa Ana tussock moth

Lophocampa annulosa

Lophocampa annulosa caterpillars are always present in my garden. Sometimes I take care of caterpillars until they become adults. It emerged on a cold winter morning. But there were a few warm rays of sun where I put it to take pictures. I would really like to know why this moth is known as Santa Ana.
