Simpoh Ayer

Dillenia suffruticosa

Description:

This luminous, banana yellow flower has five thick petals, and an off white center. This flower is about the size of an average human being's palm. There are very few flowers coming from the plant, so the flower stands out, and can be easily located. In this picture, it is surrounded by large, light and dark green leaves, and a few buds, waiting to bloom.

Habitat:

I found and took this picture at the Dairy Farm Nature Reserve, in a large patch of many different plants, bunched together.

Notes:

I love this flower's luminous color, and how it stands out so well. I just had to take a picture of it because it was right in front of my face! You can't miss it!
