Tadpole

Lithobates sp.

Description:

Large tadpole I found in a small pond full of frogs. The adult calls were so numerous and loud it actually hurt my ears. I returned it back to the pond and it swam away

Habitat:

Freshwater pond with many cattails.

Hmm, read up and see if you can find any definitive differences in the tadpoles, I'm just not familiar enough with them! I know the best way to definitively ID tadpoles is to examine the mouth parts, but several of them you can just visually ID as well.

Thank you! Any information I could provide to help with a more confident ID?

I would bet either northern leopard frog or green frog, but I lean towards northern leopard frog!
