Chocolate tube slime mold

Stemonitis sp.

Description:

Chocolate colored fungus with an average height of 0.25 of an inch . The upper part shaped like a hotdog and the lower part is black hairlike filament. Remind me of a hotdog on a stick or an incense . They grow in group and composed of several clusters.

Habitat:

Grows on dry places like rotten dry woods and other organic matters.

Yes not fungi. Similar to Stemonitis axifera. I will change the category to other.

I agree with Christine. This is a slime mold in the Stemonitis genus.
