Lampropholis guichenoti
Small Lizard very common in suburban gardens throughout Australia. On average they don't grow more than 9 cm in length (3.5 inches) but can reach 14 cm (5.5 inches)
They love leaf litter, long grass or logs for protection. I have a large population in my yard, and often see them scurrying around the garden
Pictures include one skink eating a small green caterpillar. I have seen them catching flies and most recently I saw one catch a small grasshopper. They are very useful in the garden because they catch a lot of small insect pests
