Russula sp.

Description:

Medium sized mushroom. Upper is flat with a depression in the center, reddish pink coloration getting darker towards the center of the cap. Large, bright white gills, white stem.

Habitat:

Connetquot River State Park Preserve. Temperate forest. Growing trailside.

Nice find Tamar,it's a red russula species,almost impossible to tell the exact species without spore microscopic photos,according to the fungi speciealist we have in PN,so you you can id him us red russula in common name and russula sp. in the scientifc name
