Small leaf beetle, Chrysomelidae family.
Criteria:- body more compact, harder than in Diabrotica;- pronotum constricted in middle, no lined side border;- head with sulci inbetween eyes;- elytra usually with some puncture series.
Criteria, Boris? Texture or markings? Can you give me some help for separating, thanks?
cf. Lema sp. (mimic)
Bayucca, my youngest brought me a beetle home form school just yesterday. They were learning about insects in class and had to catch some and look at them with a magnifying lens. She brought hers home to me - a beautiful glittery green weevil like this one:http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/109...:)
Sorry, should be Galerucinae, not Galerucini.
Chrysomelidae, Galerucini, Diabrotica sp..http://www.flickr.com/photos/61897811@N0...http://www.flickr.com/photos/tristanba/5...
I am sure you will get some new beetles from your kids as gift for Mother's Day ;-)...
