Green Claybank Tiger Beetle

Cicindela denverensis

Description:

Bright metallic green, medium-sized beetle. Ivory markings vary greatly from obsolete to resembling Cicindela purpurea.

Habitat:

Found these specimens along a sandy and rocky river beach.

Notes:

Identification provided by Ted MacRae. I personally had no clue.

Great shots!
I never see any tiger beetles where I am now. When I saw them in TN I couldn't get a good photo. You must have plenty of patience. ;)
