Achilid Planthopper

Description:

A small Planthopper of the Family Achilidae, 4 mm in length. This may be an individual of the opposite sex from a previous spotting, or just a color variant? In this individual, the white band crosses the thorax does not include the humeri of the upper wings. In the previous spotting, the white band is much broader, extending down several mm into the wings. See: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/130....

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
