Asian Barred Owlet

Glaucidium cuculoides

Habitat:

Juniper trees, surrounded by a thick forest.

Notes:

My wife spotted this brown owl this afternoon perching on a branch of this juniper. We used to hear it hoot at the night last couple of weeks when there was a rise in the ambient temperature. While photographing it I was quite discrete (making minimum moves, keeping low at the terrace, using a bean bag for my camera, etc.).
