Grackle

Quiscalus sp.

Description:

Slender crow-like bird.

Habitat:

Near the sea off Florida. It was fishing.

Notes:

This photo was taken by by cousin Mr Prasenjit Dattaroy and he would like an ID, please. I thought it was a Grackle. But I do not think Grackles fish for food.

Thank you mauna Kunzah...I first saw a Grackle in December 2019! So not very familiar with their habits...the ones I saw were residents at a very posh hotel...bathed in swimming pools and feasted on sugar sachets and cut fruits at our breakfast tables...great to learn they fish as well. THANKS!!!!

I agree with you. I think it’s a boat-tailed grackle.

Grackles do fish! :)
