Southern lapwing (Tero)

vanellus chilensis

Description:

These are vanellus chilensis chicks. They don`t know how to fly yet, they will learn. They are very small and lovely. They are brown, white and black. Their eyes are black but once they grow they will be red. They have quite long legs. They were inside the egg for 26 days. They eat invertebrates, animals with no backbone such as worms and insects.

Habitat:

These ones are at Saint George`s School, Montevideo, Uruguay. They can be found in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
