Mud dauber nest

Description:

This nest was constructed on the underside of a large leaning rock in the woods.

Habitat:

Cross Timber woodland.

Notes:

You can usually find their nests on the sides of buildings or other structures. If you see a large quantity of mud dauber nests close together, that usually is just the work of one female. Mud daubers are not as aggressive as yellow jackets, and they can sting repeatedly without dying.
