Thryothorus ludovicianus
Medium-sized wren with rufous upperparts and buff underparts. Eyebrows are white, wings and tail are dark barred with white flecks. Throat and chin are white. Bill is decurved. Legs and feet are pink-gray. Range expands north when winters are mild and retracts south when harsh.
I've seen this wren bobbing around on this ledge a number of times, hunting the insects and spiders that live there.
We have large windows that look out on the deck. The wrens don't seem too concerned how close we are as long as there's glass between us.
