Spotting

Notes:

Shield bug seen on the wall outside Canungra bakery. The closest match I can find is the Green Shield Bug (Coleotichus costatus) http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_... but I don't know if it's the same.

Neither do I Shanna :-) Well beyond my comfort zone, hence I won't make a formal suggestion! There are probably others too. At least this one has been widely reported in Australia.

Hi Shanna! You may want to have a look at this one. It is reported in Australia and is a world-wide pest.

Yes, you could, but believe me it is very likely that it could have survived on tourist's bag because many time I have seen them survive without water or in really cold weather while I believed they should be dead! Good luck with determination and try to avoid to get sprayed with its smell cause it is terrible! ;)

You're right injica, it does look like that. I can't find anything that says it's present in Australia... might have to send it off to Australian Biosecurity for a check!!
