Hi there. If you see a butterfly or moth that's winged, that is the adult form. The juvenile or immature form is the caterpillar. It sounds like you are merely seeing different species that are congregating together. From what I can see in your photos, these animals are "puddling," or gathering on damp surfaces (or dung) to take up nutrients and moisture.
