Large whitish grey fungus. At least 1' across. Growing on a fallen oak trunk. Soft to the touch.

Garth Woods, Eastchester, NY. Oak tulip forest. Early spring.

I don't think it's supposed to be that whitish grey colour. It looks like a bracket fungus which has been colonised by a second parasitic fungus and has just gone mouldy! Could have been something like Laetiporus sulphureus once, but it's too far gone to tell.
