Tachinid Fly

Tachinomyia sp.

Description:

Fairly large fly. Light head, grayish thorax, abdomen black with white bands. Long hairs on abdomen.

Habitat:

Woodland. Connetquot State Park, New York.

Notes:

This fly kept crawling into the groundcover. My best guess for a Genus at this time.

Good shots Tamar. Worth the exercise. Long abdomen on it.

I just wish it would have held still enough for me to get a better picture. I must have been chasing this fly around for at least 5 minutes. Haha!
